Texas Purges One Million Ineligible Voters From Rolls In Election Integrity Push
Texas Governor Greg Abbott announced the removal of over 1.1 million ineligible voters from the state's rolls since 2021.
The removals include 457,000 deceased individuals, 6,000 felons, and 6,500 potential noncitizens, with 1,930 of the latter having a voting history.
These actions follow the passage of several election integrity bills in Texas since 2021, including Senate Bill 1 and House Bill 1243.
The state is referring the 1,930 potential noncitizen voters with voting histories to the attorney general's office for investigation.
Texas also removed voters who confirmed they had moved, canceled their registrations, or failed to respond to notices.
